A United States soldier was killed when a patrol came under attack in the northern Iraqi city of Baquba, the US military in Iraq said Monday, dpa reported
The incident, currently under investigation, took place late on Sunday near the city, which lies 70 kilometres north of Baghdad, according to a statement.
The name of the soldier was being withheld until relatives were notified.
