Azerbaijan , Baku, Sept. 26 / Trend A. Isgandarov/

The recent horrible acts of terror, which kicked Iraqi cities last weekend is part of the foreign forces' agenda and targets Iraqi statehood and people, Iraqi Vice President Tariq Al-Hashimi said in an official statement today.

"Recurrence of such incidents in Iraqi cities reaffirms the inefficiency of security measures taken throughout the country." he added

"The evil and criminal forces have renewed their efforts targeting Iraq and sawing seeds of sedition among the Iraqi people," he said.

At least 17 people were killed and 70 wounded after four blasts rocked a government building in the Iraqi city of Karbala on Sept. 25.

A car bomb detonated outside the office where national ID cards and passports are issued. Three further explosions went off as emergency services arrived at the site.

Karbala - home to one of the holiest sites in Shia Islam - has witnessed much sectarian violence in the past.
