Former Egyptian president Hosny Mubarak is to be placed under house arrest, state television announced Wednesday, dpa reported.
An order for Mubarak's house arrest was issued by the deputy military governor under the state of emergency which has been in place since last week, the broadcaster said.
Mubarak earlier won release from pre-trial detention in a corruption case, although there were conflicting reports as to when he might be freed.
