U.S. is ready to postpone the prepared military operation against Syria in case of transferring of chemical weapons under international control, President Barack Obama said in an interview to ABC television.

"Of course. If this really happens," Obama said, answering the question, whether it is possible to delay the attack in case of implementation of the proposed plan, RIA Novosti reported.

Earlier on Monday, Syria's foreign minister stated that Damascus agrees on Russia's proposal to transfer the Syrian chemical weapons under international control.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on the Syrian authority "not only to agree on a statement of storage of chemical weapons under international control, but also to its subsequent destruction, as well as on entering the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons."
