5.2-magnitude quake hits South China Sea

A 5.2-magnitude earthquake jolted the South China Sea area, at 9:58 p.m. Thursday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), Trend reports citing Xinhua.

The epicenter was monitored at 14.77 degrees north latitude and 116.16 degrees east longitude.

The quake struck at a depth of 20 km, the center said in a statement.
