The factions of the Party of Regions and the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc at the Verkhovna Rada are holding talks on election of first deputy speaker Oleksandr Lavrynovych as the Verkhovna Rada chairman, reported Ukrainian News Agency.
Deputy chairman of the Party of Regions faction Hanna Herman told this to the press.
The deputy said that the BYT has not yet agreed with this candidacy.
Herman also found it difficult to forecast if the Verkhovna Rada intends to consider the reelection of the speaker on Tuesday.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on September 2, the Verkhovna Rada elected Party of Regions faction deputy Oleksandr Lavrynovych as the first deputy chairman of the parliament.
On September 17, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Arsenii Yatseniuk submitted the resignation statement.
