Landslide kills three in Kuala Lumpur

A landslide killed three people in a suburb of the Malaysian capital early on Saturday, tearing down houses and forcing the evacuation of thousands of people, police and local media said, according ro Reuters.

At least 15 people were injured when the landslide struck two housing estates burying several houses, police said.

Some people may still be trapped in the rubble, The Star newspaper quoted Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan as saying on its website.

"We urge the people living nearby to move out because it is reported that earth movement continues to take place," he said.

More than 2,000 residents have already been evacuated.
