Suicide car bomb kills Afghan police, wounds 5 in South

Taliban fighters in the latest wave of violence blew up an explosive-packed car in Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province Thursday, killing one police and wounding five others including a student, police said, Xinhua reported.
  
"This morning a suicide bomber was driving an explosive-laden car toward police base in Spin Boldak town when police tried to stop the car as the attacker blew the car up killing one police and wounding five on the spot," a senior police officer Saifullah Hakim told Xinhua.
  
He said that one of the injured is a passerby student.
  
On Tuesday and Wednesday multiple suicide bombers rocked Khost province in east Afghanistan, killing and injuring over two dozen people, mostly civilians.
  
Taliban fighters have recently vowed to intensify attacks mostly in the shape of suicide and roadside bombings this year in Afghanistan.
