Missing journalist found dead in Turkey copter crash

A Turkish journalist who went missing following a helicopter crash that killed a political party leader was found dead, officials said on Monday.

Ismail Gunes, a reporter of the private IHA news agency, was found inside a cavity in a rock nearly 500 meters from the crash site in southern Turkey.

Gendarmerie search and rescue teams found his body covered with snow, officials said.

A helicopter, carrying six people including the leader of Grand Unity Party (BBP), crashed on a mountaintop in bad weather on Wednesday. Five bodies were found at the site two days after the crash, reported World bulletin.

Ismail Gunes, who made a phone call with emergency hotline shortly after the accident, had said his leg was broken and he was freezing. He said some of the other passengers were dead, and that his cell phone battery was running out. His phone conversation was aired by TV channels.
