Turkish senior commander in ISAF killed in road accident in Afghanistan

A senior commander of Turkish forces in Afghanistan along with colleague were killed and two others wounded as his military vehicle met fatal accident in northwest Faryab province, provincial police chief said Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
  
"Colonel Farooq Songar went to Faryab Tuesday. After visiting Turkish-financed development projects and on the way back to Jauzjan province, his vehicle met fatal road accident in Daulatabad area, the colonel and one of his colleague were killed and two others injured," Khalil Andarabi told Xinhua.
  
The incident, he added, occurred at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
  
More than 850 Turkish forces have been serving in Afghanistan within the framework of NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) to strengthen security in the post-Taliban central Asian state.
