Turkey would like to see President Assad stay in Russia, said the Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, TRT Haber reported Oct. 21.
He was commenting on Syrian President Bashar Assad's recent visit to Russia.
PM Davutoglu said the Syrian people don't support President Assad, who is the main cause of the bloodshed in Syria.
He also noted that Turkey, as in the past, stands for Assad's resignation for the settlement of the Syrian crisis
Syria's President Bashar Assad visited Moscow Oct. 20, and had talks with Russia's President Vladimir Putin, the spokesman for the head of Russian state, Dmitry Peskov said today.
"Last night, Syria's President Bashar Assad made a working trip to Moscow. Talks were held with Russian President Vladimir Putin in narrow and expanded formats," said Peskov.
Members of the senior leadership of Russia attended the expanded format talks he added.
