Turkey demands the US to stop supporting the terrorists of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the People’s Protection Units (YPG) in Syria, the Turkish media quoted Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu as saying March 3.

“The Operation Olive Branch in Syria is aimed at ensuring the security of Turkey’s borders,” he said.

Cavusoglu stressed that Turkey also stands for political settlement of the Syrian crisis.

On Jan. 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched the Operation Olive Branch in Afrin, Syria.

F-16 fighters of the Turkish Air Force are involved in the operation, inflicting strikes on the positions of PYD/YPG on the Syrian-Turkish border.
