Chemical products make most of exports from Turkey’s Izmir province

From January to August 2019, most of the exports from Turkey’s Izmir province accounted for chemical products - worth $1.065 billion, which is 0.16 percent less compared to the same period in 2018, Turkish Exporters' Assembly told Trend.

In August 2019, chemical products worth $141.348 million were exported from Izmir.

From January to August 2019, goods worth a total of $6.391 billion were exported from Izmir, which is 0.28 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.

During the reporting period, exports of steel from Izmir amounted to $431.530 million, which is 5.24 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.

“From January to August 2019, cement worth $185.274 million was exported from Izmir, which is 17.78 percent more compared to the same period in 2018, leather products - $91.971 million, which is 3.22 percent less compared with the same period in 2018,” the report said.

During the first eight months of 2019, electrical goods worth $277.064 million were exported from Izmir, which is 17.71 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

“In January-August 2019, the export of jewelry from Izmir decreased by 35.96 percent compared to the first eight months of 2018, amounting to $2.753 million,” said the report.

In August 2019, goods worth $774.891 million were exported from Izmir.

During the reporting period, steel worth $64.333 million was exported from Izmir, which is 14.52 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

“In August 2019, the volume of export of cement from Izmir amounted to $21.375 million, which is 0.22 percent more compared to the same period in 2018, leather products - $11.914 million, which is 3.95 percent less compared to the same period 2018,” reads the report.

In August 2019, electrical goods worth $35.117 million was exported from Izmir, which is 15.96 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

“In August 2019, export of jewelry from Izmir grew by 7.91 percent compared to August 2018, amounting to $130 million,” the report said.
