As many as 8,872 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Turkey to Italy from January through March 2020, which is by 11 percent less than in the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s International Freight Forwarders Association (UND) on April 28.
"For the reporting period, 3 percent of the total volume of cargo transshipment by trucks from Turkey accounted for Italy," the association said.
According to the association, 2,662 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Turkey to Italy in March 2020, which is 27 percent less compared to March 2019.
“From January through March 2020, 813 Italian trucks transported cargo from Italy to Turkey, which is by 24 percent more than in the same period of 2019,” the association noted.
Meanwhile, in March 2020, 269 Italian trucks transported cargo from Italy to Turkey, which is by 3 percent more than in the same month of 2019.
In total, 290,069 trucks from Turkey transported cargo abroad from January through March 2020, which is 3 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
Some 78,646 trucks from Turkey transported cargo abroad in March 2020, which is 26 percent less compared to March 2019.
