The trade turnover between Turkey and Italy decreased by $277.6 million in July 2020 compared to the same month in 2019, standing at $1.3 billion, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.
Turkey’s exports to Italy in the reporting month exceeded $598.6 million, while imports from Italy - $728 million, the ministry said.
From January through July 2020, the trade turnover between the two countries slumped by $2.1 billion compared to the same period of last year, amounting to $8.3 billion.
According to the ministry, Turkey’s exports to Italy in the first half of this year amounted to $4 billion, and imports from Italy – over $4.3 billion.
Turkey’s foreign trade turnover made up $32.8 billion in July this year.
Meanwhile, Turkey's exports declined by 5.8 percent compared to the same month of 2019, amounting to $15.1 billion.
Imports to Turkey in July 2020 rose by 7.9 percent over the year and exceeded $17.7 billion.
From January through July 2020, Turkey's trade turnover amounted to over $206.7 billion, while the country's export value was 13.7 percent less than in the same period of 2019, making up $90.1 billion, the ministry said.
In the first 7 months of this year, Turkey's imports declined by 3.9 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $116.6 billion.
The foreign trade turnover of Turkey in 2019 made up $374.2 billion.
