The volume of cargo transported via International Antalya Airport from January through May 2021 has grown, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 28,280 tons of cargo had been transported via Antalya Airport, which is by 9 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
Meanwhile, 11,577 tons of cargo were transported via domestic flights (an increase of 10 percent on annual basis) while 16,703 tons of cargo via international flights (a growth of 9 percent).
Passenger traffic at Antalya Airport made up over 2.4 million people, which is by 6percent more than from January through May 2020.
At the same time, the passenger traffic via domestic flights was over 1.1 million people (decrease of 11 percent) while via international flights – over 1.3 million people (rise of 27 percent).
According to the ministry, 22,980 flights were made from the airport, which is by 10 percent less over the year.
Besides, the number of domestic flights was 13,127 (up by 6 percent) while international flights – 9,853 (an increase of 16 percent).
The passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey reached 29.4 million people while the volume of cargo transportation – over 1 million tons during the reporting period.
