The Turkish port of Ambarli received 3,453 ships in 2021, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
According to the ministry, last year, 1,169 ships accepted by the port flew the flag of Turkey, while 2,284 - the flags of other countries.
Turkey's ports handled over 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021.
Meanwhile, freight traffic by vessels under the Turkish flag through domestic ports exceeded 29.9 million tons.
Cargo transportation via the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries last year totaled 356.3 million tons.
Besides, Turkish ports transited over 78 million tons of cargo.
In December 2021, Turkish ports handled more than 35.4 million tons of cargo.
Meanwhile, transshipment of goods through ports under the Turkish flag reached 2.5 million tons, and under the flags of other countries – 32.8 million tons. In the same month, Turkish ports handled 7.2 million tons of transit cargo.
