( Cihan ) - Two more Turkish soldiers were killed in attacks by PKK terrorists in eastern Turkey. A major, Murat Ozyalcin, was killed by a remote-control mine in the Yuksekova district of Hakkari. A corporal, Cihan Kiziltas, was killed in clashes with PKK terrorists in Elazig in eastern Turkey.

Blacklisted as a terrorist organization by the US, the European Union, Britain and much of the international community, the PKK have intensified its attacks on the Turkish military in recent weeks.

More than 35,000 people have been killed in the conflicts since 1984, when the PKK began struggling for the cause of a separatist ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey.

In June alone, 15 Turkish soldiers were killed by PKK terrorists, mostly during clashes in southeastern Turkey or by mine blasts.
