Turkish energy minister’s visit program to Azerbaijan announced (UPDATE)

Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz will visit Baku to attend the sixth meeting of an intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation on Jan. 22, the Turkish Energy Ministry told Trend.

Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz will visit Baku to attend the sixth meeting of an intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation on Jan. 22, the Turkish Energy Ministry told Trend.

During the visit, Yildiz is expected to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov, the ministry said. Taner Yildiz and Abid Sharifov are co-chairmen of the intergovernmental commission.

Yildiz will arrive in Baku on Friday night and leave on Saturday evening.

The minister will be accompanied by the head of the TPAO national oil company and the CEO of Botas.

According to the statistics of the Turkish Treasury, as of late September, Turkish investments in Azerbaijan reached $3.825 billion. Roughly $3.573 billion were invested in the energy sector.
