Hungarian press extensively covered the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Hungary told Trend on Wednesday.
Almost all major media in Hungary on 26-27 February provided information on this bloody page of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and crimes of Armenians against the civilian population of Azerbaijan.
Following the popular newspaper Nepsava, the newspapers Majar Nemzet and Majar Hirlap, news agency MTİ and numerous Internet resources of Hungary informed the readers about the historical injustices faced by civilians of Khojaly. At the same time information was provided about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, unjust territorial claims of Armenia against Azerbaijan, occupation of Azerbaijani historical lands by Armenians, and politics of ethnic cleansing carried out with extreme brutality.
Columnist of the Madjar Nemzet newspaper Gabor Laszlo Zord told about a meeting in Baku with participation of 6 thousand people to commemorate the victims of Khojaly and to protest against the Armenian genocide.
