New faculties have been opened at the Chirchik Higher Tank Command-Engineering School of Uzbekistan for special operations and counter terrorism units, the head of the military training Department of the Uzbek Defense Ministry, lieutenant-colonel Shukhrat Kasimov said to the Uzbek national news agency (UzA).
"Starting this year, the training of counter terrorism and special operations units will be conducted at this military school" - said the representative of the Ministry of Defense.
Until now, the school has trained officers in specialties such as tank, aircraft and air defense command, and the engineering of tank units. During the learning process, modern information technologies and means of modeling and simulations are being widely used.
Besides the general educational and technical disciplines, special tactics and anti-terrorist operations chair, combat use of air defense troops chair, engineering and specialized training chair, military psychology chair, mining and fire training chair, the organization of work with staff chair, chair of the management of daily operations of troops, also operate in the school.
Kasimov said that special training places for developing practical actions on airborne, chemical, and engineering training and study rooms with models and technology are equipped at a modern level.
A pool and sports fields, a special obstacle course, a computerized shooting range, simulator systems for managing combat vehicles, a gym, a library, study rooms are at the disposal of cadets.
Currently, the higher military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan train officer personnel in nearly 30 specialties.
