Georgia and Turkey seek to provide security in the region, parliamentary official Akaki Minashvili said in a talk with media after meeting a delegation of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
"Georgia and Turkey have the same values in the political and economic spheres, as well as international issues," he said. "The aim of both countries is to ensure security in the region."
The Turkish delegation also met with Vice Speaker Giorgi Tsereteli. Turkey is Georgia's strategic partner and bilateral relations with it have special meaning, he said.
"We welcome the activity, which is developing today within the bilateral relations," Tsereteli. said. "We cooperate with our Turkish colleagues in political issues and the support of Georgia's de-occupation and the country's integration into NATO and the EU."
