Georgian Deputy Prime Minister, Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze, director general of Oil and Gas Corporation David Tvalabeishvili and head of the Georgian mission for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Stephen Haykin will attend the opening ceremony of the construction of the 20 kilometer Gori-Kareli section on the main East-West gas pipeline as part of the fourth phase of the rehabilitation of east-west gas main on April 30.
USAID finances the construction.

Turkish company AHM ENERGY GAS HEATING SYSTEMS CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. TIC. LTD. STI. won the international tender. This company will be involved in the operations at the Gori-Kareli section.

"Oil and Gas Corporation" announced the international tenders in July 2013 as part of the fourth phase of the rehabilitation project.

The construction work is planned to be completed in October 2014.

The cost of the Gori-Kareli section construction contract is $ 3.8 million.
