Azerbaijan announces admission to technical schools for 2009-2010 academic years

Azerbaijan State Student Admission Commission (SSAC) has announced admission to technical schools for 2009-2010 academic years on the basis of 9-year secondary education.

Free admission of documents will begin on June 24 and run through July 31 at student admission commissions at educational institutions, SSAC chairman Maleyka Abbaszade said.

"There are total of 9,516 planned places in 46 state-run and one private technical school; 5,652 are free and 3,864 paid. About 9,212 are allotted for Azerbaijani-language graduates and 222 for Russian-language graduates," Abbaszade said.

The graduates can select 5 major codes, she said.

"The graduates will be asked 15 questions on Azerbaijani language, history and math. Russian-language graduates will also take Azerbaijani language exam. They will be asked five questions on Azerbaijani language and 10 questions on Russian language. Those who gain 10 points will be allowed to competition," she said.
