Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) is installing support blocks as part of creation of the new platform No.6 at the Bulla Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, SOCAR First Vice-President Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh told reporters Sept. 10.
He said that in general the platform will consist of 11 blocks and is meant to drill four gas wells.
"If we get good results, their number will be increased in the future," Yusifzadeh said.
The daily debit of the four wells at platform No.6 is projected to reach two million cubic meters of gas and 600 metric tons of condensate. The platform will be installed at the point where the water depth is 26 meters.
It will be managed by the Oil and Gas Extraction Management named after N. Narimanov.
Earlier, SOCAR First Vice-President Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh said the company will build a new platform at the Bulla Deniz field in the zone, which previously accommodated the old platform No.90.
The old platform earlier suffered a fire due to an accident there. The fire on the old platform was extinguished, and on Oct. 25 the well, which had high debit, was connected to the gas transmission system.
A new platform will be built given the reserves of the field's new block, which was discovered following drilling operations at the platform No.90.
The reserves of the new block, which had high debit, are estimated at 10 billion cubic meters of gas.
