BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 14. Italy seeks to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of agrarian product processing, as it is satisfied with the already existing results of such cooperation, Deputy Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) Tural Hajili told Trend.

“The business forum is attended by representatives of 13 Italian companies, mainly specializing in fruit and vegetable processing technologies. Cooperation with them is important for Azerbaijan, as most of the products of Azerbaijan's agro-sector are export-oriented and must meet international standards,” Hajili said.

According to him, almost all wineries in Azerbaijan use Italian technologies for wine production.

“From the application of Italian technology, Azerbaijani wine benefits. We successfully export it to different countries of the world, i.e., there is success from interaction,” Hajili emphasized.

He noted that the share of non-oil trade turnover in cooperation with Italy this year accounted for $40 million.

“Italian companies will participate in the international exhibition in Baku ‘İnterfood-24’ on May 15–17. Our cooperation in the agro-sphere is developing in an ascending direction,” Hajili added.
