Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Ilhamgizi / Eldar Namazov, an independent Azerbaijani political scientist does not consider real the claims of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP), the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA), the Liberal Party of Azerbaijan (LPA) and Musavat party only on their participation in the elections commission.

With respect to improve the Elections Code of Azerbaijan, a round table will be held in Baku from 7 to 9 November through joint organization support of the Council of Europe (CE) Venice Commission and IFES (International Foundation for Elections Systems) with participation of political parties. The PFAP, DPA, LPA and Musavat, which are the leading of forces of Azerbaijani opposition, decided to come out from a unified position and to develop jointly a package of proposals in connection with changes to the Election Code of the country. They offer to form half of seats at the elections commissions of representatives of the government and the said opposition parties.

Expressing his position on the proposal by 'four', Namazov said that political parties change positions in short period of time, while their claims remain unchanged, which are not seem real. A while ago, Azadlyg block criticized other opposition parties, not considering them opposition. To be concrete, they rebuke the DPA for alternation of political course and Musavat for participation in the Parliament's work.

"Now they announce a new format and declare that the opposition is comprised of only these four parties. It is unknown what their attitude for each other will be tomorrow," Namazov said.

The participation of all parties in the election commission is unreal, because the role of parties in public is deferent and the possibilities of their participation in election commissions are also different. Nevertheless, Namazov considers unfair the participation of only four opposition parties in the election commissions.
