Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Submits Results of Presidential Elections to Constitutional Court

Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 October /corr. Trend J.Babayeva/ On Sunday, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan submitted the results of the presidential elections to the Constitutional Court for approval.

According to the Law on Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Republic, the Court shall officially declare the information on the results of the Presidential elections in Azerbaijan Republic during 14 days from the day of voting. The decision of Constitutional Court shall be final.

Seven candidates run for presidency at the 15 October presidential elections including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of Ruling New Azerbaijan Party, Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party, Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party, Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party, Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.

Chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party, current State Head Ilham Aliyev gained 88.73% of votes.

Igbal Agazade gained 2.86%, Fazil Gazanfaroglu - 2.47%, Gudrat Hasanguliyev - 2.28%, Gulamhuseyn Alibayli - 2.23%, Fuad Aliyev - 0.78% and Hafiz Hajiyev - 0.65%.

According to the article 103 of the Constitution, the inauguration of the person being elected the President shall take place within three days from the day of Constitutional Court's official declaration of information on the results of presidential elections.


From the day of inauguration, the President of Azerbaijan Republic shall receive monthly wage totaling AZN 15,000.
