Former Prime Minister of Iran to nominate for presidential elections

Former Prime Minister of Iran, who is currently the head of the House of Culture and Art of Mir Huseyn Musevi, will soon will put forward his candidature for the upcoming presidential elections.

One of the members of board of the house of culture and art, who wished to remain anonymous, told Trend that Musevi's nomination for the elections has already been decided.

Musevi will officially declare his nomination this week in the Gandhi Mosque in Teheran.

The information sites of the reformist camp reported that Musevi prepares to nominate, but this was not declared officially.

During the war between Iran and Iraq, Musevi was Prime Minister for 8 years, and after death of Imam Khomeini (1989), he left the policy, becoming the head of the house of culture and art.

The man close to Musevi told Trend said that the election campaign for former Prime Minister was ready.

He said that Musevi's visits are planned to the regions of Iran for the realization of the agitation campaign.

Musevi is the representative of the camp of reformists. From this camp, two more, former President Mohammad Khatami and ex-Speaker Mehti Karrubi put forward their candidatures for the presidential elections.

The presidential elections in Iran will take place on June 12.
