Equally negotiating parties are necessary to restore peace in Cyprus, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davudoglu said at a joint news conference with Foreign Minister of Northern Cyprus Huseyn Ozgur in Ankara, the Turkish TRT2 television reported.
"Equality of the parties should be to establish peace in Cyprus. If the Greek side perceives the Turks as a minority, then the negotiations will be out of question," Davudoglu said.
He said that Turkey wants peace on the island and does not spare forces to do so.
"We are negotiating with the Greek side to restore the peace. If there is any chance for peace, we must not miss," the Turkish Foreign Minister said.
