Georgian journalists to sign ethics charter

Georgian journalists finalized work on a draft journalistic ethics charter in cooperation with European media experts and Council of Europe representatives. The journalists will sign the charter at the Radisson Hotel Dec. 9, Iea Antadze, who initiated the project, told Trend News.

Georgian journalists finalized work on a draft journalistic ethics charter in cooperation with European media experts and Council of Europe representatives. The journalists will sign the charter at the Radisson Hotel Dec. 9, Iea Antadze, who initiated the project, told Trend .

The charter contains 11 articles. Journalists are responsible for observing the principles set forth in the charter. A special council of nine individuals will monitor articles published by journalists who signed the document. Journalists will elect council members, who will include three Tbilisi and sixth regional journalists.

Council of Europe Adviser on Media Programs Management Florence Marshall and Georgian and European guests will attend the signing ceremony, Antadze said
