Uzbek Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Czech Republic with residence in Berlin Dilshod Akhatov presented his credentials to Czech President Vaclav Klaus, "Jahon" news agency under the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

Uzbek ambassador and President Klaus also exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic in the political, socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, the report said.

President Vaclav Klaus said that his country considers Uzbekistan as an important international partner with whom the Czech Republic has close friendly ties.

It was reported that the Senate (upper house of parliament) of Uzbekistan appointed Dilshod Akhatov Uzbek ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany in May 2010.
