Head of the CIS observation mission Sergei Lebedev lauded the high level of preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.

CIS Executive Committee Chairman, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev made the statement at a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

He also shared his experiences observing elections in other countries with the FM.

Meanwhile, Mammadyarov expressed confidence that the elections will be held at a high level.

The sides also exchanged views on bilateral and regional issues.

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous elections were held in November 2005. The elections are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.

The CIS mission, including 352 observers, will monitor the elections in Azerbaijan.
