The conflicts in the Caucasus should be resolved and this is a problem not only for Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan, but for the entire world, Georgian Patriarch Ilia II said at a meeting today with Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade in Tbilisi.
"There is no war in the Caucasus, but there is no peace also, and this should not be tolerated any more," he said. "This is a very painful issue for the Caucasus, and I'm glad that you are involved in this process, it is very important to ensure peace in the region."
Ilia II said Karabakh has been cut off from Azerbaijan and Abkhazia and South Ossetia have been separated from Georgia, which cannot contribute to peace in the region.
