Some opposition forces in Azerbaijan are trying to monopolize the concept of "opposition" , the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary Ali Ahmedov told journalists on Friday.
He said the concept of "Azerbaijani opposition" is quite extensive and varied. The Azerbaijani opposition includes radicals, centrists and the opposition occupying a constructive position. Most of them are represented in the Azerbaijani parliament, Ahmedov said.
"If the opposition represented in the Azerbaijani parliament is able to unite and decided to create an opposition group in the parliament, it should be understood properly. But I do not know whether the representatives of these parties, which sharply differ from each other in terms of ideology, will speak from a position of a single group ?, " he asked.
