more senior officials have been arrested due to accusation of corruption and endangering national security, Mehr News Agency quoted Prosecutor General of Iran Gholam Hossein Mohsen-Ejei as saying on Monday.
"The Judicial System never compromises when confronting the officials violating laws," Ejei said in a press-conference.
He has not revealed these officials' name.
The Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said his position on his Iranian opponents' pressure has been to keep silence so far, IRNA reported on 29 June.
"It is obvious and clear that pressure is politically motivated," Ahmadinejad said. "My 'redline' is the Cabinet and I would break my silence if they [opponents] take any destructive step towards the Cabinet."
Iranian MPs signed in June some scrolls to impeach several ministers, including foreign minister as well as mines and industry minister.
Ahmadinejad threatened that he would clue some secret facts to Iranian citizens if the opponents attack the Cabinet.
Reacting to Ahmadinejad's statement, Ejei told "there is no any 'redline' otherwise nobody has been arrested" and reiterated "the Judiciary System made a strong decision to fight against law breakers."
Earlier Aras Free Trade Zone managing director Alireza Moghimi was arrested, Fars News Agency reported. He is charged with corruption, Iran's East Azerbaijan Province Justice Department Head Malek Ajdar said.
Before, Head of the Iranian Ervend Free Trade Zone Ali Asgar Perhizkar was arrested in Iran.
According to the report, both them are close with the former head of the presidential administration, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office Esfandiyar Rahim Mashaei.
Also, the former Deputy Foreign Minister for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mohammad Sharif Malekzadeh was arrested on June 23.
