Government forces use chemical weapons in the fight against Free Syrian Army (FSA), Turkish Timeturk newspaper quotes FSA members as saying on Tuesday.
According to the opposition, last month Syrian government forces used chemical weapons in the city of Deir ez-Zor.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton earlier stated that possible use of chemical weapons by Assad regime is a "red line" for the United States. Previously, U.S. President Barack Obama commented on the issue using the similar word.
Anti-government protests have continued in Syria for more than a year and half.
According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria is nearing 30,000.
Over 230,000 have become refugees with around three million in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
