The Arab countries of the Persian Gulf intend to adopt a single visa system for foreign tourists by analogy with the Schengen visa in Europe, Kuwaiti Al-Rai newspaper reported on Friday.
According to the newspaper, a foreign tourist who gets a visa of one Persian Gulf country will be able to travel over all six Arab countries in this region which are members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Members of the GCC intend to adopt such a visa system in the coming years. Foreign citizens will be required to have a certain amount in a bank account for obtaining this visa.
