The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Ukrainian Parliament) Volodymyr Rybak tendered his resignation due to illness, the vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Koshulinsky said, opening parliament session on Feb.22, RIA Novosti reported.

"The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Rybak Vladimir Vladimirovich wrote a resignation statement due to illness. He requests the authority of the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, to be taken off him," Koshulinsky said.

Large-scale riots resumed in Kiev on Feb.18. The crowd tried to approach the Parliament of Ukraine.

According to police, the radicals use firearms. The country's MOI says at least 80 people were killed in the riots.
