Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union will in no way affect the interests of Azerbaijan, Belarusian ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolai Patskevich told reporters Dec.17.
"Armenia's participation in this alliance should be carried out in accordance with international law," the diplomat said. "This should not infringe upon the interests of Azerbaijan."
He also said that the agreement on the functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union enters into force, which opens great opportunities for partners.
"For our partners, as well as Azerbaijan, the union opens up great promises," Patskevich said. "Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia - it's 170 million of consumers. This increases the market by several times, opens up great opportunities for our partners. We are optimistic about the future of this union."
