Court session on the criminal case against Khadija Ismayilova continued Aug. 12 at the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.

Judge Ramella Allahverdiyeva chaired the session.

Initially, Nuraddin Eyvazov, who worked as a driver on the Azadlig radio, gave testimony at the trial as a witness. The witness answered the questions of the public prosecutor about his work on the radio.

Eyvazov testified that Khadija Ismayilova invited him to work at Azadlig radio.

Then, Ismayilova refused to testify due to the fact that another witness didn't take part in the hearing.

She said that she would testify only after she hears testimony of all witnesses.

Judge Ramella Allahverdiyeva explained the absence of the witness by the fact that the witness isn't in Azerbaijan.

The trial will continue on August 13.

Ismayilova was arrested under the article 125 (incitement to suicide) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

Then, new charges were brought against her under the articles 179.3.2 (large-scale misappropriation and embezzlement), 192.2.2 (illegal entrepreneurship), 213.1 (tax evasion) and 308.2 (abuse of official duties) of Azerbaijan's Criminal Code.
