BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. The Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan Friendship Park has today opened in Bishkek.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov attended the inauguration of the park.
The heads of state first cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the park.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov made speeches at the event.

I am glad to welcome you to the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, the city of Bishkek. Today's event, the opening of the Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan Friendship Park, is a visible and clear evidence of the friendly relations between the two countries and the historical ties of the two fraternal peoples not only in political and economic, but also in cultural and humanitarian cooperation. This park is a symbol of strong friendship and brotherhood between our countries, which have long-standing relations, deep historical, spiritual and moral roots, values and traditions. This is the solid foundation on which we are building modern Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani relations.
It is pleasant to note that interstate relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan have intensified this year, reaching a completely new level of strategic partnership. This is largely due to the personal attention and support of esteemed Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. I would like to specifically note your multifaceted creative activity, dear Ilham Heydar oglu, aimed at ensuring and protecting the national interests of the country and enhancing its international authority among the world community. Your personal attention and desire to expand cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas have won respect and support in our country. I want to emphasize that we attach great importance to the development of strategic partnership relations with brotherly Azerbaijan, which have stood the test of time.
Dear guests and friends. It is a special holiday for our residents today. I congratulate you on the opening of the Friendship Park of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
I express my special gratitude to you, dear Ilham Heydar oglu, to your entire team for your help and assistance in the construction of this beautiful park, which will become a real gem where our people will enjoy spending their time. It is very pleasant to see our mutual desire embodied in this beautiful reality in a short time. I wish our Azerbaijani friends a pleasant pastime in Kyrgyzstan, inexhaustible energy and great success in the name of and for the benefit of our countries and peoples. Thank you.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said: Dear Sadyr Nurgozhoyevich, dear friends. The opening of the Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan Friendship Park has a symbolic meaning. On behalf of the entire people of Azerbaijan, I want to express my gratitude to the President of Kyrgyzstan for such an attitude towards our country and people. In this park, we also see the vision of the President of Kyrgyzstan, his plans for urban development, his desire to create comfortable and pleasant conditions for residents of the capital, as well as residents of other cities and villages of Kyrgyzstan.
Six months ago, Sadyr Nurgozhoyevich paid an official visit to Azerbaijan. We had the opportunity to discuss in detail not only the bilateral agenda, but in general, in a broader sense, to talk about plans and our vision for the future. I saw that the President of Kyrgyzstan has a clear understanding of where the Kyrgyz society will go – a commitment to peace, security, national roots, common Turkic roots. All this, as well as the careful attitude to the memory of the great sons of the Azerbaijani people, causes great respect in Azerbaijan. Tomorrow we will inaugurate a school named after the great son of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, as well as a school bearing the name of another great son of the Azerbaijani people, Nizami Ganjavi. Azerbaijan highly appreciates such an attitude towards our outstanding leaders and their memory, and regards this as a manifestation of brotherhood.
Today, on Kyrgyz soil, I once again see that this brotherhood is not in just words, but in deeds. We have discussed a wide range of issues with the President of Kyrgyzstan today. As Sadyr Nurgozhoyevich noted, the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan is already a reality, and we fill this partnership with new content every day. The first day of my visit to Kyrgyzstan is coming to an end. It is coming to an end here, in this new picturesque corner of the capital of Kyrgyzstan. I must also say that Baku and Bishkek have become sister cities. In other words, the brotherhood of our peoples is also transforming into a sister relationship between our cities. I am sure that this good tradition will live on, and many other cities of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan will become sister cities.
I would like to once again express my deep gratitude for the hospitality extended to me and members of our delegation on the fraternal Kyrgyz land. For my part, I want to assure you that I will do everything in the future to bring our fraternal peoples, who have common roots and a common cultural heritage, even closer together. Together with the President of Kyrgyzstan, I will do everything to ensure that we continue to maintain friendship in international organizations, in the economic sphere, in investment, transport, energy, culture – in all spheres, so that Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, like two brothers, march forward shoulder to shoulder for the joy of our peoples and for the future of our countries.
