BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Retno Marsudi in the framework of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 27, 2024, the statement of press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said, Trend reports.
According to the information, the meeting discussed issues of bilateral, including multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia, as well as preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
The meeting emphasized the importance of developing ties between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Indonesia in various spheres, including economy, transport, and tourism.
The sides noted the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries within the UN, Non-Aligned Movement, OIC, and other international organizations.
Speaking in detail about the initiatives put forward within the framework of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of COP29, Bayramov noted readiness to cooperate with Indonesia in the field of combating climate change.
Afterwards, the ministers signed an “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and service passports.”
