CEC to confirm planned schedule on repeated parliamentary elections on 14 Dec

On Wednesday the Central Election Committee (CEC) will confirm the planned schedule on the repeated parliamentary elections scheduled for 13 May 2006,” Natig Mammadov, the CEC secretary, told Trend.

He stressed that the planned schedule was ready. The document will be put for discussion on Wednesday.

According to Mammadov, the document reflects term of events, beginning and end of polling, as well as election procedure rules. The secretary said that in accordance with the law, people were already able to ballot, but there was no similar case.

The candidates are due to represent their documents to election committees at least 70 days before the elections. In their turn, the election committees are due to consider the documents during 10 days. The pre-election campaign will start 60 days before the elections and complete 24 hours before the polling day.
