Azeri president expresses condolences to his Iranian counterpart

On Friday Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, sent a letter of condolences to his Iranian counterpart Mahmud Ahmadinejad in relation to the devastating earthquake in the Luristan province, Trend reports.

News on numerous human losses and destroying in the Luristan province distressed us. I express deep condolences to you, as well as the families and the friends of the disaster victims in regard to the tragedy, the letter says.

In accordance with the last data, the number of the victims of the earthquake in the Luristan province reached 70. Thus, 70 bodies were extracted from the ruins, while the number of injured made up 970. The number of injured people is supposed to increase.
