A visit of the Jacob Kellenberg, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will help to specify a list of Azerbaijanis who either missed, or been captivated and give impetus to the cooperation with this international organization, Trend report quoting Gultakin Hajiyeva, an Azerbaijani parliamentary representative at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

It will of course take more than a day. Azerbaijans relevant bodies seriously cooperate with the International Committee of the Red Cross. I hope Kellenbergs visit to give impetus to this cooperation. The key objective is not to specify the list, but obtain information on the missing people, Hajiyeva underlined.

The ICRC list included 2,600 missing people of Azerbaijan, though the Azerbaijani side urges the figure is approximately 5,000.

A rapporteur on missing people in Azerbaijan, Leo Platvoed will visit Geneva-based headquarters of the ICRC in April to specify the list. The report will be heard on 10-13 April at a meeting of the PACE Committee on migration, refugees and population.
