Azerbaijan will be able to independently ensure its demand for gas from 1 January 2007, the Azerbaijani Prime Minister, Artur Rasizade, briefed the media on 4 December after the bilateral negotiations with the Russian Prime Minister, Mikhail Fradkov, Trend reports with reference to RBK.

He added that Azerbaijan is continuing considering the proposal of Gasprom regarding delivery of 1,5 bln cu.m of gas with the prices of $230 per 1,000 cu.m.
