Namik Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Georgia, exclusively informed Trend that the Azerbaijani embassy in Georgia has received a resolution adopted by the Tbilisi Mayor Office on the establishment of a bust of ex-Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev in the center of the Georgia capital city.
He noted that a political resolution on the establishment of the monument was adopted in 2004 during Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev official visit to Georgia. However, the agreement has no legal basis.
The Ambassador added that the bust will be raised in the historic center of the city named Meydan, which is densely populated by Azerbaijanis.
