Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The initiative to elect a single candidate from opposition may bring to the collapse of the opposition camp, said the Chairman of opposition 'Our Azerbaijan' Political Bloc, Vugar Beyturan. He considers unsuccessful the proposal of MP Panah Huseyn to elect a single candidate from opposition for participation in 2008 presidential elections. Selecting such tactics will help collapse of the opposition camp, Beyturan said. In addition, he protests against participation in elections for traditional opposition.
"I think that the political leaders who have incurred bitterness of defeat should not put forward their candidatures. Presently the main fact is the co-operation of all political forces for democratic elections. The idea of single candidate meets the interests of only opposition," Beyturan said.
'Our Azerbaijan' Bloc brings together eight opposition parties.
