Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Huseynli / Ali Ahmadov, the deputy chairman and executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, stated on 19 July that the Party was developing its election strategy in preparation for the forthcoming President elections in Azerbaijan in 2008.
According to Ahmadov, this strategy will affect the election situation in the country and define tactics with regards to concrete situations. Ahmadov noted that the ruling party has a large capacity to successfully conduct the elections. Special training and workshop sessions will be held for members of the party. The party is ready to cooperate with all international organizations to hold democratic elections. "There is no other candidate from the New Azerbaijan Party equal to the present President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the forthcoming President elections," Ahmadov added.
The New Azerbaijan Party was founded by Heydar Aliyev, the former President of Azerbaijan, in 1992. Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, is the chairman of New Azerbaijan Party.
